Carmelo Rodriguez III – I’m speechless.

by quigis on Oct.06, 2008, under Uncategorized

From time to time, you read or hear about something that just leaves an imprint on your mind that lasts forever.

I’ve always believed that a country’s soldier should be held in the highest regard.  These people are heroes who help shape the future of our countries.  In some places these heroes are forced to serve, and in others brave souls willingly stand up against unimaginable circumstances; leaving their loved ones behind and in some cases leaving their lives on the battle field for their country and what they believe in.

Since the War on Terror started years ago, there have been stories about how American soldiers have been mistreated, forgotten, or left behind.  I wonder how many Americans know that in the cases where their brave soldiers are mistreated, even in the face of undeniable proof, there is nothing anyone can do about it.

My wife told me about a youtube video that I watched… (continue reading…)

Zune 24 hours Later

by GermanPickle on Jul.16, 2008, under Uncategorized

Well I’ve had my Zune for 24 hours now. I must admit that at first I was very frustrated at the Zune software, and I wanted to tell you all that it’s a piece of shit, and if I had paid for the Zune I would be ready to bring it back.

HOWEVER… …

I’m playing around with the Zune and the software a little tonight. Although I still am not a fan of being forced into the proprietary software, I’m now thinking the Zune software isn’t so bad. It’s usable, and actually a little intuitive. For those of you like me, that still prefer MTP or Mass Storage Device capability, there’s zSuite.

zSuite is a hack for the Zune software allowing you to modify Zune to sync with WMP, WinAmp, or iTunes. There’s also a setting to make it a Mass Storage device. I wish Microsoft offered this out of the box.

Finding zSuite was difficult, so here’s a link.

More on the Zune in a couple days.

Hi All.

Talk of the town is the Microsoft Zune.  I’ve secured a Zune which should be arriving soon.  I will be showing it off, and putting a review on this site when it is delivered.    Stay tuned.  This should be good.  The Zune offers wireless PC syncing and other cool sounding features.   I can’t wait to tell you all about it!

What a Freecycle score!

by GermanPickle on Jun.26, 2008, under Uncategorized

Many of you have heard of the Freecycle network. In the past I’ve received and given stuff away on the network. I’ve gotten computer parts, and given away entire computers. I’ve received Dirt bike tires, and given away furniture. I’ve given away carpet, hard wood paneling, and rose bushes. All stuff that I wanted to keep out of the landfill that somebody else had a use for. A couple years ago, I received an engine for a Porsche 944, which I gave to a friend with a shot engine in his 944.

Yesterday, however, I believe I made the ultimate Freecycle score, and it came just in time for the UEFA Soccer finals in which Germany’s playing. (continue reading…)

Seven Time Formula One champ, Now an Actor?

by GermanPickle on Mar.19, 2008, under Uncategorized

I was watching the January episode of Wetten Dass..? where they played a clip from the recent movie, “Astérix aux jeux olympiques”. I could swear that in the clip I saw Seven Time Formula One Champ Michael Schumacher. I had to know, so I checked IMDB, and sure enough he’s in the credits as the character Schumix.

Over here many of you may not even know who Asterixis, but I remember watching this cartoon as a kid. I severely doubt this movie will make it even to DVD release in North America, as none of the others did, so I guess my only option is to find it on a Bittorrent site. Here are the details of the movie. Gérard Depardieu plays one of the leads, and he’s a huge name in Europe.

The Ultimate New Years Resolution.

by admin on Jan.01, 2008, under General Topics, Personal, Uncategorized

About five years ago, I made a New Years Resolution. I think it’s the only New Years Resolution I ever made that I have actually kept. The resolution was “Never make another New Years Resolution!”

If you make one resolution. Do yourself a favour, and make this it! It’s the ultimate resolution. It comes guilt free and without effort. All it requires is a memory that lasts 365 days and a mental reminder on day 364. (continue reading…)
